What is Relay Race about and how to relay race?

Relay racing is strictly about team accomplishment. Not individual achievement, but relay team accomplishment.


Based on track and field set up; 400mtr relay, four members position themslvs at quarter positions around the track. Lead-off runner carries a batoon while running and hands it to the 2nd leg runner, who runs w/it and hands it to the 3rd leg runner, who does the same to the final (and usually the fastest) member of the team, whom you hope will win for you.
