Should you wear spikes in an 800 meter race?

i got a race tomorrow in the 4x800 meter relay. should i wear spikes?

this is a serious race and i plan on running it in 2:15

?|||if you have them then by all means yes. I tell my runners that they aren't needed unless you go under 2:30 - then try them.

Spikes are lighter and won't slip like regular shoes might. But if you've not worn them, then don't use them in a race first. You need to be on your toes at the last 200 and if not used to them, it might hamper for a time or two if they aren't "broken" in.|||heck yes!! I do and it really helps. Make sure they fit well. And if its your first time running in them i suggest breaking them in. Good luck!|||Oh yea!! You want to grip the track, and wearing them will deff get you in that time range. Good Luck|||wear spikes for everything!

besides shotput and discus.
