Track and field relay racing help?

I have a two relay races coming up: the 4x200 and the 4x400. I need some tips for baton exchanges as well as important rules for relay races.|||to break inside until they tell you usually they have cones I'm guessing that this is in a 200m indoor track. Or else you will get DQed. It depends what kind of baton passing your doing. Blind or not. Cause blind is when your teammate comes close to you and says go and you start running and then when he says stick you grab it and sprint. Or you just look at your teamate coming and stick our your hand like your holding a cup and grab the baton and go. this is what i did in may 4x200.|||haha i have a meet comming up soon too but im in 4x800 and the mile in DMR.

anyways... try making your hand into an L shape. be sure to get a start.. dont just got from standing to sprinting. dont take off too early or too late. dont take the baton anywhere above your shoulder or below your waist. if you drop the baton, dont stop until they tell you you're disqualified. as long as it fell behind you, you arent disqualified. so just walking off ends the race and you get no points for it.

other than that, be sure to practice a few handoffs before your race and just run your best. goodluck =]|||When I run the 4x200 or the 4x100 when we pass the baton, the person passing yells go and you start running and then they say reach and you put your hand back and grab the baton. When I run the 4x400 we just watch our teammate because it is a slow handoff.
